Annual “Share The Warmth Drive” Continues Through Jan. 12, Supporting Locals in Need

Posted on January 4, 2024

Continuing the tradition: United Way of Central New York, COR Development Company, Community Bank, and OneGroup are collecting new and gently used coats and other essential items that will be given to local men, women, and children in need, December 11 – January 12.

Syracuse, NY – COR Development Company, in partnership with United Way of Central New York, Community Bank, and OneGroup, remain committed to collecting new and gently used coats and essential winter items for local men, women, and children in need. The Share the Warmth Drive, which began on December 11th, is ongoing through January 12th, ensuring an extended opportunity for the community to contribute to this meaningful cause.

The public is encouraged to drop off new and gently used coats and other essential items that will be given to local men, women, and children in need. All contributions will be sorted, packed, and distributed to people in need through the 22nd Annual MLK Day of Service event on January 15th.

Examples of other items include: scarfs, hats, sweatshirts/hoodies, mittens, gloves and new socks.

“This annual holiday drive has consistently made a positive impact on our community. We have provided dozens of boxes and bags of non‐perishable food, toiletries and clothing to two local non‐profits helping so many families in need. Partnering with United Way of Central New York again and now Community Bank has amplified our reach and ability to support those in need. We're immensely grateful to the public and our local partners for their unwavering generosity, making a tangible difference in the lives of many during this season of giving.” said Merissa Lynch, Marketing Manager for COR Development.

”The need in our community is great, but with wonderful partners like COR Development, Community Bank and OneGroup we’re able to answer the need in a special way. Thank you to COR Development, the many participating tenants, and all of the shoppers for donating to our Share the Warmth Drive. You’re making an impact in our community.” said Nancy Eaton, president of United Way of Central New York.

“We’re proud to support the Share the Warmth Drive through our community partnership with COR Development Company and encourage everyone to participate by donating new and gently used winter items. Your contribution has the power to provide warmth and comfort to our fellow community members in need. We’re grateful to be a part of this tradition led by COR Development Company, which creates a positive and sustainable impact in our community by ensuring that the items collected are directed where they are needed the most this winter.” said Lindsay Weichert, Community Bank Senior Vice President, Commercial Banking Group Manager and United Way Board Member.
