Leadership Lessons crowd at the Redhouse Arts Center.

More than 100 attendees gathered at the Redhouse Arts Center to hear influential executives and community leaders share leadership lessons that have shaped how they manage, motivate themselves and others, and build success in their lives and careers. CenterState CEO extends its thanks to all the speakers, and Marie Morelli, Editorial/Opinion Lead, Syracuse.com and The Post-Standard, who moderated the program. The event was presented by D'Arcangelo & Co LLP: Certified Public Accountants.

Here are our editor’s picks of some of the speakers’ advice. Watch all their thought provoking and inspiring remarks on Click, CenterState CEO’s digital platform, at the links below.

“Life lessons are the foundation of leadership lessons. From an early age, I learned believing in yourself and doing things out of your comfort zone.”

Marylin Galimi, Chief Operating Officer, Upstate Medical University

"A leader is only as strong as the people that hold them up."

Dreamer Glen, Owner, Miss Prissy's

"Lead with values: humility, hard work, persistence, the power of learning, and grace. These serve as a compass for leadership."

Dr. Peter Nwosu, President, SUNY Oswego

“Be flexible, lead with integrity, humility and creativity.”

Chris Montgomery, Director of Syracuse Build, CNY Works

“You do not have to be a senior leader to assume a leadership role. It takes vigilance and passion.”

Joe Nehme, Senior Manager of External Affairs, Micron Technology

“We can all do something to change something. The strength of a leader is to do something about the issues you see."

Meg O'Connell, Executive Director, Allyn Family Foundation

“Be vulnerable. Share struggles and create psychological space for your team to share. Be credible in doing what you can say you will do and have clear goals and objectives.”

Ashley White, Senior General Manager, Baldwinsville Brewery, Anheuser-Busch InBev
